With nearly two decades of dedication to the housing sector, my journey began within the walls of a local housing association, igniting my fascination with house building and architecture.
Driven by an appetite for knowledge and a quest of self-improvement, I committed myself to a full-time pursuit of architectural studies at university.
From navigating the work within nationwide surveying to immersing myself in the dynamic environment of local authorities and private practices, each experience served as a cornerstone in sculpting my expertise. With every project undertaken, I gained invaluable insights, honed my skills, and expanded my creative horizons.
In November 2021, I took the leap into entrepreneurship, establishing my own architectural practice. Witnessing its growth from a solo endeavour to now having two part-time members on board has been an incredibly rewarding journey. Together, we are committed to translating visions into tangible structures that reflect innovation and functionality.
Beyond the drafting table, I am a fervent traveller. My fascination with different cultures goes hand in hand with my architectural pursuits, as I believe understanding cultural nuances is key to creating spaces that resonate with their inhabitants.
In my leisure time, you’ll find me immersed in the work of music, playing the piano to unwind. The theatre is another avenue where I find inspiration and joy.
ZHIYAO ZHOU
BA ARCHTIECTURE, MSC ADVANCED SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Since joining MCE architectural services, Zhiyao has worked extensively on housing projects. She helps with site surveying and drawing up plans and sections. With her modelling and rendering skills, she also visualises new housing projects in three dimensions so as to deliver real-life atmosphere to the clients.
Zhiyao graduated with her Bachelor in Architecture at the University of Sheffield in 2022. She is studying her master of MSc Advanced Sustainable Design at the University of Edinburgh at the moment. With extensive interest in sustainable architecture, she challenges the existing architectural agenda and puts sustainable theory into architectural practice with a new perspective.
During free time, she enjoys exploring galleries and museums. The National Gallery of Scotland is a perfect spot to catch her during weekends.

ALEXANDER FLEMING
DESIGN ENGINEERING, POST GRADUATE MASTERS
Alexander holds a Master's degree in Design and excels in both technical and hands-on environments. With over 10 years of experience in the construction design industry, he has worked as a Design Technician on a diverse range of projects across the Central Belt. His portfolio includes residential, commercial, industrial, and local government buildings.

Alexander is adept at producing designs for projects of all sizes, ranging from simple wall removals to extensions of various shapes, size and constructions. He is proficient in a wide array of design software, including 2D CAD, 3D modeling, graphic design, and numerical design modeling software.

Beyond his professional work, Alexander has channeled his passion for technical design into his interest in alpine skiing. Additionally, he has a deep passion for food, which has led him to enjoy diverse cuisines from around the world. He enjoys exploring new culinary experiences both at home and away.
